Our Co-Founder Christian Leffin was invited as a guest speaker at the One Young World - Action Accelerator Programme sharing his expertise on how he managed to navigate from the idea of founding a company to operationalizing his plan and get through the nitty-gritty to make it happen. During the session participants had the opportunity to join an interactive conversation with Chris, who helped them to further develop their own business ideas.
Our colleague Kristina Drenker is Managing Ambassador Europe for One Young World (OYW) as well as one of five Co-Founders of the Action Accelerator. One Young World is The Leading Forum for Young Leaders with a global network of more than 13,000+ leaders, from 190+ countries aiming to drive scalable change and to deliver to the Agenda 2030.
Once a year the annual Summit takes place, which brings together the existing Ambassador community and the newly joining Delegates. Between Summits, the One Young World Community participate in an ongoing programme of opportunities including caucuses, funding, peer-to-peer mentoring, media exposure, and speaking engagements and Ambassadors are counselled by influential political, business and humanitarian leaders.
After the OYW 2021 Summit in Munich, the Action Accelerator team selected 40 participants for a six month program to guide and help them to kick off or scale up their business ideas. All initiatives are contributing to one or more SDGs. The Accelerator takes place over 6 months, during which participants join monthly 1.5hr sessions aimed at bringing their ideas to life.
Throughout the programme, experts from various fields serve as mentors, coaches and consultants who help support the participants’ growth and goals. Their expertise ranges from business development and project management to pitching and storytelling. Each session is interactive, with breakout groups based on participants’ passions and needs, and help participants establish a support system that lives beyond the program.
The ultimate goal of the Accelerator is to allow the One Young World community to further develop their leadership skills and bring lasting change to life.
